Philips reveals 45-inch ultra-wide monitors with KVM switches and USB Type-C ports
Philips has introduced two new business monitors by the names 45B1U6900C and 45B1U6900CH. As their names suggest, the pair are identical for the most part, with 44.5-inch VA panels that operate at 5,120 x 1,440 pixels with a 32:9 aspect ratio. Additionally, the ultra-wide display has a 1500R curvature, a 75 Hz refresh rate and 450 nits peak brightness. Moreover, Philips claims that the panel offers 107% DCI-P3 colour space coverage, 8-bit colour depth and 4 ms response times GtG.
Furthermore, the pair have adjustable stands and a telescopic hook on which to hang headphones. Elsewhere, the 45B1U6900C and 45B1U6900CH have twin HDMI 2.0 ports, DisplayPort 1.4 connectivity and USB Type-C ports that support 100 W Power Delivery and DisplayPort Alt Mode. Both also share Gigabit LAN ports and KVM switches, as well as four USB 3.2 Type-A ports.
However, the 45B1U6900C adds a USB Type-B upstream port to that mix, which the 45B1U6900CH lacks. Conversely, the 45B1U6900CH has a built-in webcam and a noise-cancelling microphone for use on conference calls. For reference, the former outputs at 5 MP and is Windows Hello certified. In other words, the 45B1U6900CH can also provide biometric authentication for a connected desktop or laptop. Philips has not provided pricing or availability details yet, but more information about both monitors can be found on its website.
