GPD has just released the Win 5 as the first AMD Strix Halo-powered gaming handheld that can anyone can actually buy. By contrast, Ayaneo has not said anything about the competing Next 2 for almost two months. Now, One-Netbook has stepped up with an alternative of its own called the OneXFly Apex.
For context, One-Netbook is still yet to clarify the whereabouts of the Super X, a ROG Flow Z13-inspired 2-in-1 also powered by AMD's Strix Halo architecture. Nonetheless, the company has decided to expand its list of unreleased devices with another Strix Halo option that will surpass the existing OneXFly F1 Pro in all areas (curr. $1,439 on Amazon).
For instance, the OneXFly Apex will be available with the Ryzen AI Max Pro 385 or Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and 32 GB, 64 GB or 128 GB of RAM. Additionally, One-Netbook has included an 8-inch native landscape display with 120 Hz VRR support. Moreover, the OneXFly Apex has a cooling solution capable of keeping the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 in line even with a 120 W TDP.
One-Netbook has confirmed that its next 8-inch gaming handheld will feature an 85 Wh battery too, as well as adjustable triggers, an M.2 SSD and a Mini SSD slot. Ultimately, the OneXFly Apex sounds like a beefed-up Aokzoe A1X. While One-Netbook suggests that the OneXFly Apex will be available soon, it has not shared a specific global launch date yet.
