The OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro have only been official since May 14, 2019. Despite this, the OEM has already rolled a new Android Q beta out for the phones. The build may offer insights as to what software updates of the future will be like on the 2 devices, but not much else at this point.

The OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro may have been launched only 7 (bad joke not intended) days ago. However, they already have access to the Android Q developer preview program. Google instituted this in order to give a short-list of OEMs (which may now, furthermore, be down by 1) and their users an extensive sneak peek as to what the next upcoming version of the popular OS has in store.

This program also includes the OnePlus 7 series' predecessors (the 6 and 6T). Now, the company has announced a similar, optional update for its new flagships. They allow users who download and install them to get an idea of what the final version of Android Q will be like on their phones.

Then again, it does seem as though OnePlus has fast-tracked this beta for the sake of fast-tracking this beta. The OEM's software team concedes that it may contain a degree of system instability. In addition, the company's distinctive Ambient Display is offline in this build, as is recovery mode, navigation gestures and SMS in the presence of VoLTE.
