The Ace 3 (or 12R) broke OnePlus flagship-series smartphone records on its debut thanks to its 5,500mAh battery. Now, however, its supposed Pro variant is now backed to beat it by becoming the OEM's first-ever 6,100mAh device later in 2024.
Famed leaker Digital Chat Station hails the spec as an out-of-this-world upgrade, as it will allow the Ace 3 Pro to stay as slim as its immediate 8.8mm predecessor - if not even thinner - despite its significantly increased capacity. Then again, it is thought to come at the expense of any hope of wireless charging, even if its wired speed remains at 100W.
The tipster also now claims to have had some hands-on time with the device, in a leak that purports to confirm its new look, designed as a tribute to a limited-edition Bugatti Veyron.
The Ace 3 Pro's supposedly ceramic-inlaid rear panel is indeed apparently incised with a laser-cut, Grand Sport L'Or Blanc-esque pattern of approximately 104 flowing lines.
The 2 Pro successor is now thus backed to mimic a ~10,000 yuan (~$1,378) smartphone in terms of premium finish, even though it is slated to follow one that costs as little as $449.99 on Amazon right now.
