Official: Ricoh GR to help optimize Realme GT 8 Pro against the Leicia-Hasselbad cameras of the Xiaomi 17 and Oppo Find X9 Pro

It has now been officially confirmed by teaser posters and a lengthy post from Realme's vice president on Weibo: Realme has secured a prominent partner among the traditional camera brands in the battle for the best smartphone camera, positioning itself to compete against the most well-known collaborations in this country between Xiaomi and Leica, and Oppo and Hasselblad.
According to the Realme vice president, the partnership officially announced today is the result of a four-year collaboration, which means that the camera of the upcoming Realme GT8 Pro flagship will benefit significantly from the know-how and tuning of the Ricoh GR team. Specifically, camera sensor tuning and dedicated software algorithms are mentioned, which are intended to bring about the "Ricoh GR Look" in prominent Realme cameras in the future, such as in the areas of color tuning and scene illumination.
According to previous leaks, the Realme GT 8 Pro will feature an interesting camera setup with a replaceable module on the rear. Inside, there will be a triple-cam setup consisting of two 50 MP wide-angle cameras and a 200 MP telephoto camera. It remains to be seen whether some of the typical features of a Ricoh GR IV have also been implemented. In addition to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, we also expect a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a high refresh rate and a battery capacity of around 7,000 mAh, at least in the Chinese model, which is set to be unveiled in October.
Update: Global launch date on October 14
Realme has now also confirmed its global collaboration with Ricoh GR, as teasers on X (see below) show. The collaboration, which began four years ago, is advertised here, and there is also talk of a launch event on October 14, which will likely primarily focus on the camera partnership and not on the launch of the Realme GT8 Pro.
