Apple is expected to deliver its first Air-branded iPhone later this month with the company's thinnest smartphone housing since the iPhone 6. In the meantime, ZTE has launched the Nubia Air, which it positions as a cheaper alternative to the Galaxy S25 Edge that Samsung released earlier this year (curr. $699 on Amazon).
While the Galaxy S25 Edge has regularly received discounts since its arrival, the Nubia Air will start for significantly less than the Galaxy S25 Edge is ever likely to be discounted. Specifically, ZTE intends to offer the Nubia Air for €249 in the Eurozone and $279 globally. For that price, ZTE includes the following hardware:
ZTE Nubia Air | |
---|---|
Display | 6.78-inch AMOLED, 2,720 x 1,224, 120 Hz refresh rate, 4,500 nits |
Battery | 5,000 mAh with 33 W wired charging |
Chipset | Unisoc T8300 (2x ARM Cortex-A78/6x Cortex-A55) |
Cameras | 50 MP primary with two auxiliary sensors, 20 MP front-facing camera |
As we have covered previously, the Nubia Air is unlikely to be the 5.9 mm device that ZTE suggests. Instead, it will likely be closer to 6.7 mm in thickness. Setting that aside, the Nubia Air will be available in Streamer Black, Titanium Black and Titanium Desert colour options later this month in Europe. A global rollout will then follow across the Middle East, Latin America and Southeast Asia. Unfortunately, ZTE has not indicated whether it will offer the Nubia Air in the US nor provided launch dates for the Middle East, Latin America and Southeast Asia. Please see Nubia's product listing for more details.
