Casio has officially unveiled its new LF-30W digital watch series in the US, with all four variants now available for $29.95. These models - LF-30W-1A, LF-30W-2A, LF-30W-3A, and LF-30W-8A - are part of Casio’s May 2025 lineup and should be great for casual users looking for a budget-friendly yet feature-packed digital watch. Interestingly, Amazon has these watches listed for $89, which is an enormous markup from the base price. More on that here.
Each watch in the series sports a compact resin case (37.8 × 33.7 × 8.6 mm) and weighs just 23 grams. The design is unisex and leans minimal, with a square face and world map display graphic. The strap is made from bio-based resin.
Despite its low price, the LF-30W packs in a surprising number of functions. It supports 31 time zones across 48 cities, a 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer (up to 24 hours), five daily alarms, LED backlight (with amber tint), and a full auto-calendar running up to the year 2099. There’s also a multi-time display for tracking four different cities at once, a neat feature at this price.
Battery life is rated for about three years on a CR1616 cell. The glass is resin, and water resistance is basic enough for day-to-day splashes, but not recommended for swimming.
The LF-30W line is priced identically to Casio’s AE1000W-5AV, but with a more compact and updated design. Buyers can choose from black, dusty blue, green, and off-white colorways.
