New Sony over-ear wireless headphones revealed by leaked images, specifications and launch pricing
Roland Quandt and WinFuture have discovered numerous details about a forthcoming pair of Sony over-ear wireless headphones. While the headphones resemble the older WH-1000XM3, they are expected to arrive as WH-XB910N successors called the WH-ULT900N. Correspondingly, they are more of a mid-range affair with hardware to match.
According to Quandt, Sony equips the WH-ULT900N with 40 mm drivers, which is aided by what the company will market as 'Ultra Power Sound'. Supposedly adjustable between two levels, Ultra Power Sound will help the WH-ULT900N deliver a 5 Hz-20 kHz frequency response for a more bassy sound than many of its competitors. Moreover, the headphones will offer an equaliser mode, although it is unclear how many bands will be supported.
At any rate, the WH-ULT900N features a Bluetooth 5.2-capable modem, as well as Bluetooth Multipoint and LDAC connectivity for up to 990 kbit/s wireless audio transmission. On top of that, the headphones have microphones for active noise cancellation (ANC), plus Google Assistant and Siri integration. Furthermore, Sony will rate the Google Fast Pair-compatible headphones for up to 50 hours of music playback or 30 hours with ANC enabled. Currently, Quandt claims that the WH-ULT900N will launch in Black, Forest Grey and White finishes for between €179 and €199 across the Eurozone.
