Asus first unveiled its ROG Flow Z13 (curr. $1,699 on Amazon) tablet-laptop hybrid back in 2022 and refreshed it in 2023 with a Ryzen 7000 CPU. Our in-depth review praised it for its compact form factor and gaming prowess. Now, its next iteration could get even toastier thanks to an even more power-hungry Strix Halo CPU.
A now-hidden post on Sam Jiun-Wei Hu's website (via HXL on X, Videocardz) shows Asus plans to launch a new ROG Flow Z13 variant next year with a Strix Halo CPU. It uses the 110 Watt SKU spotted in an earlier leak (30 Watt CPU plus 80 Watt GPU). Cooling it will be a lot easier as the Zen 5 CPU and RDNA 3.5 GPU are on the same die unlike its last-gen counterparts that paired with a Ryzen CPU with an Nvidia GPU.
Still, cooling 110 Watts is not an easy feat, but Asus is convinced it is up to the task. The new Asus ROG Flow Z13 is tipped to launch in 2025 and will likely debut shortly after Strix Halo does. Whether or not it will keep its predecessor's eGPU dock remains to be seen, but the 13-inch screen appears to remain unchanged.
