Minix now has a new, compact and passively cooled PC on offer, the Minix Neo Z350-0dB, which is said to be completely silent and suitable for continuous operation thanks to its cooling fins (excluding possible coil whine). The model is equipped with the Intel Core i3 N350, which is definitely not a high-end computing chip, but it does have eight cores instead of the four found in the N100. Possible areas of application include, for example, office tasks, educational activities, media playback or billboard advertising.
The mini PC comes with 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD, which is also connected via PCIe rather than SATA, although the difference shouldn't be particularly noticeable in daily use. In terms of ports, there is a card reader located on the front, as well as two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a 3.5mm jack and a USB-C port, although the latter does not support video output. On the back are two HDMI 2.0 ports, supporting video output at 4K resolution and 60 Hz. Two USB 2.0 ports are also available, while the lone-standing Ethernet port supports a maximum data transfer rate of 2.5 Gbps. Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 are supported.
As for dimensions, the model measures 4.84 x 4.72 x 1.69 inches. Furthermore, Minix advertises anti-static hardware protection, claiming that this increases longevity and decreases the risk of electrostatic discharge. Last but not least, the fanless design of the mini PC is likely to ensure long term protection against dust build-up on the inside, as is usually the case with fan-equipped PCs.
The Minix Neo Z350-0dB is currently listed on Amazon for just under $380.
