Only a few days have passed since Minisforum introduced the UM690L Slim powered by AMD's Ryzen 9 6900HX APU. On top of that, the company has confirmed that it has the N5 Pro waiting in the wings as a new compact network attached storage (NAS) solution that combines a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and OCuLink connectivity. Nonetheless, the company has now delivered another mid-range mini-PC that it claims to have released globally from today.
This time, Minisforum has introduced the UM750L Slim powered by the Ryzen 5 7540U, a lesser spotted Phoenix-U series APU that should effectively match the performance of the Ryzen 5 7540U that we tested last October inside the Lenovo Yoga Slim 6 14-inch. Built on a 4 nm manufacturing process, the Ryzen 5 7545U matches the Ryzen 5 7540U with a hexa-core CPU split between a pair of Zen 4 and four Zen 4c cores that can all reach 4.9 GHz under load.
The Ryzen 5 7545U also provides the UM750L Slim with 4 RDNA 3-derived Compute Units (CUs) packaged as the Radeon 740M iGPU. Meanwhile, the mini-PC itself has four USB Type-A ports, a 3.5 mm combo jack, DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 ports, 2.5 Gigabit LAN and a single USB4 connection. Internally, Minisforum has also included a pair of M.2 2280 slots for up to 4 TB of PCIe 4.0 flash storage and a Wi-Fi 6E compatible modem but soldered LPDDR5 6,400 MT/s RAM inside a 130 x 126.5 x 50.4 mm housing.
The UM750L Slim is available to order from Minisforum directly or from Amazon. At the time of writing, the mini-PC only comes with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, which Minsforum has priced at $389.99 in the US and £369 in the UK. However, the company has already discounted the device by £70 to £299 in the UK. Please see Minisforum's website for more details.
