Meizu is reportedly heading back to the Android market with smartphones based on the top-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor in 2023. The Pro variant of this alleged 20 series may have been captured in a new live image that points to a highly original, possibly emoji-inspired, rear camera hump for the putative flagship device. It is also now said to launch with a new version of its Flyme UI out of the box.

Meizu is said to resume upgrades to its last 18 series of flagship Android smartphones, starting with the new 20 and 20 Pro, as of 2023. Now, the more premium of the 2 has allegedly been spotted in the wild in a way that suggests it will follow one of the strangest mobile device trends of the year.

Indeed, it now seems the 20 Pro (or "M391Q") will join the OPPO Find X6 and X6 Pro in having new camera humps each seemingly styled after a different emoji. In the alleged Meizu smartphone's case, some new "DARK VISION" camera branding gives it the raised-eyebrow look, slightly disrupted by a ring-flash module found next to it immediately above 2 round cameras.

The impression is made complete by the mystifying inclusion of a flat bar of black glass as a 'mouth', which could be there to house something like a periscope lens module - or merely for effect.

In any case, the alleged 20 Pro's 'eyebrow' reveals that 1 of these 3 to 4 rear cameras will be a "50MP OSI" module from Sony, thereby hinting that Meizu intends to aim for normal high-end photography as weil as processing service on its upcoming comeback to the Android world.

According to an additional leak from the tipster Digital Chat Station, the 20 series will also do so with "Flyme 10" out of the box. With its bright icons, swirly backgrounds and card-based layout, this software seems much less distinctive compared to Meizu's alleged return to hardware design.
