We've already reported on the manufacturer Dangbei before, and now the company's new MP1 Max projector has become available for European customers. This device is sold at Banggood for €2,030 including shipping from a warehouse in the EU, which means it should be delivered fairly quickly and without any additional import fees. However, enforcing warranty claims is usually difficult with Chinese marketplace sellers.
With that out of the way, the MP1 Max uses multiple lasers to generate comparatively vibrant images with a BT.2020 color space coverage of 110% and a DeltaE under 1. Officially, the MP1 Max is advertised as a 4K projector, which means that it’s capable of playing high-res content. However, the Dangbei projector probably uses pixel shift and doesn’t run on native 4K.
Either way, Dangbei specifies a brightness of 3,100 ISO lumens, which means the MP1 Max a fairly bright projector with a uniformity of illumination of 85 percent. Meanwhile, the gimbal should simplify its setup as the projector can be tilted by 135 degrees and even rotated around its own axis. According to the manufacturer, both autofocus and keystone correction are supported, and the projector also features obstacle avoidance.
Furthermore, the new Dangbei 4K projector comes with a fixed projection ratio of 1.2:1 and offers a projection size of 40 to 180 inches at a projection distance of 6.5 to 15 feet. A processor with memory and internal storage are built-in, while the operating system can be used to wirelessly stream media over WiFi, even without an external media player. HDMI, USB and an audio output are available as well, but the integrated speakers with 12 watts each probably won’t offer the best sound quality.
