New information regarding Google's upcoming Pixel 10 lineup has surfaced, pointing to specific storage and color configurations.
According to a report from Droid-Life, which cites "distributor data," potential buyers of the Pixel 10 Pro may find the most vibrant color option limited to a single storage tier.
This leak also suggests Google will continue to offer a 128GB base storage option for its Pro model, a decision that carries implications for the device's underlying storage technology.
According to the leaked data, the Pixel 10 Pro will be available in "Obsidian," "Porcelain," "Moonstone," and a new "Jade" color. While the Obsidian model will reportedly be available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and a spacious 1TB option, the Porcelain and Moonstone versions are said to top out at 512GB.
For those who prefer more colorful devices, the "Jade" option for the Pixel 10 Pro will apparently be available only in a single 256GB configuration.
The larger Pixel 10 Pro XL seems to follow a similar pattern. The "Obsidian" model is also slated to have 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB options.
In contrast, the "Porcelain" and "Moonstone" variants are expected to be offered in just 256GB and 512GB sizes. The "Jade" color for the Pro XL is also reportedly restricted to the 256GB tier.
The decision to retain a 128GB starting storage for the Pixel 10 Pro is noteworthy because it suggests Google may not be upgrading to the latest UFS 4.0 storage standard across the entire range.
The faster UFS 4.0 storage typically begins at a minimum capacity of 256GB. This implies that at least the 128GB models will likely use the older UFS 3.1.
The leaks also provide a peek at the storage and color options for the rumored Pixel 10 Pro Fold. It appears this foldable device will come in "Moonstone" and "Jade".
The "Moonstone" version is said to offer 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB of storage, while the "Jade" variant will be limited to 256GB and 512GB capacities.
The Google Pixel 10 series is expected to launch in August.
