Motorola still has a few days to go before it fully unveils the Edge 70 globally. For context, the company has already committed to launching the Edge 70 on November 5. In the meantime though, it has been gradually teasing details about its next mid-range smartphone in the intervening period.
For instance, Motorola confirmed earlier this week that the Edge 70 features a larger battery capacity than the iPhone Air and Galaxy S25 Edge (curr. $649.99 on Amazon), despite being only marginally thicker than both ultra-thin smartphones. Now, Motorola has revealed it has complemented this 4,800 mAh silicon carbon battery with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, a recent 4 nm chipset with ARM Cortex-A520 and Cortex-A720 CPU cores.
As the image below highlights, Motorola has paired this chipset with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. According to early Geekbench results, the combination of a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and 12 GB of RAM allows the Edge 70 to match the CPU performance of the MediaTek Dimensity 8350-powered Edge 60 Pro before it.
Incidentally, Motorola has added to its earlier launch bonuses, which are worth over €300 (~$350) and £340 (~$455). Now, the company is offering €250 (~$407) or £250 (~$333) in savings, bringing total discounts to more than €550 (~$640) and £590 (~$653). Motorola will reveal more details about the Edge 70 on October 29.
