Intel Meteor Lake-powered Honor MagicBook Pro 16 debuts as first laptop with 24 GB of non-binary LPDDR5X RAM
Announced at MWC 2024, Honor MagicBook Pro 16 has made its Chinese debut as the first laptop to feature non-binary RAM. This unveiling follows the announcement from Crucial about non-binary memory modules being available to both OEMs and consumers.
This development in the memory department will offer users new options, which could eventually lead to cost savings when trying to meet a specific capacity. As for the Honor MagicBook Pro 16, it has been listed with 24 GB of LPDDR5X RAM on a Chinese online store called JD.com.
Of course, the laptop also has standard RAM capacities. As the listing on JD.com shows, it can be equipped with 16 GB and 32 GB of standard memory (Crucial 32 GB kit curr. $84.99 on Amazon). Although there’s a price on the 24 GB listing, it’s a placeholder tag, but Honor is set to reveal the pricing information at a press conference tomorrow.
When it comes to the other specs, as revealed at MWC 2024, the MagicBook Pro 16 packs Intel Meteor Lake CPUs. The base configuration features Intel Core Ultra 5 125H, while the top-end has Core Ultra 7 155H. Honor paired these processors with the Nvidia RTX 4060, which makes this thin and light laptop capable of handling modern AAA games.
As for the screen, the MagicBook Pro 16 sports a 16-inch display with a 165 Hz refresh rate, 3072 x 1920 resolution, and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. Honor also mentioned support for DisplayHDR 400 and a brightness rating of 500 nits. You can learn more about the laptop from our in-depth review found in this link.
