A few days have passed since Huawei started teasing its long-rumoured alternative to compact flagship tablets like the Apple iPad mini 7 and the RedMagic Astra (curr. $699 on Amazon). To recap, Huawei initially confirmed that the MatePad Mini would be arriving on September 4 alongside its Mate XTs tri-foldable smartphone.
Additionally, the company teased a silhouette of its new compact tablet, which indicated that the MatePad Mini is rather thin too. Now, Huawei has showcased the same tablet in a subsequent Weibo post. Embedded above, the image highlights the MatePad Mini from its front and rear, in which features like a small circular camera housing and relatively slim display bezels can be made out.
Meanwhile, hands-on photos circulating on Chinese social media have revealed what the MatePad Mini looks like in person ahead of time. According to Digital Chat Station, Huawei has equipped the MatePad Mini with an 8.8-inch and 16:10 OLED display sporting a 2,560 x 1,600-pixel resolution and 2.99 mm thick bezels on all sides. Moreover, the tablet is rumoured to weigh a mere 255 g with a 5.1 mm case thickness. Huawei's alleged decision to use the same Kirin 9010 chipset as last year's Pura 70 Ultra and Mate XT is deemed to be 'questionable' by Digital Chat Station, though.
