Warner Media has announced that its streaming service HBO Max is to launch in 15 new markets in early 2022. The countries in question are all located in continental Europe, which may stand ready to access movies such as the new Dune remake through this new source of content. It is slated to expand even further thereafter.

As the streaming arm for the Warner Media conglomerate, HBO Max might be the main legal source of content from DC Studios, not to mention Warner Bros, New Line, CNN, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, Looney Tunes Cartoons and more. Therefore, many consumers may be relieved to learn that it is launching in their country soon.

To be more accurate, HBO Max is slated for a March 2022 launch in Slovenia, Slovakia, Serbia, Romania, Poland, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova, Hungary, Czech Republic, Croatia, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Portugal. Furthermore, Warner Media intends to debut the service in 6 additional countries, slated to include Greece and Turkey thus far, later in the year.

Despite this, official availability of this app remains out of reach for other markets such as the UK, Germany and the Republic of Ireland. In some cases, this is because HBO content is still inextricably linked to traditional cable or satellite packages. As Warner Media aspires to make Max "one of the top global streaming platforms", it is a shame certain markets are currently barred from joining such a world.
