Garmin releases new smartwatch update with changes for recent features

The Garmin Venu 3, Venu 3s and vivoactive 5 smartwatches are currently receiving beta version 15.05. This is the third release in the 15.xx testing cycle, following version 15.02, which brought a couple of bug fixes for users.

The change log for beta version 15.05 indicates that there are alterations for the new device passcode feature, though these are not detailed. Garmin also states that it has made ‘updates’ to the recently added breathing variations tool, though again, no further information is provided here. It is also unclear how these changes differ from those made in the beta version 15.00 update.

Five bug fixes are mentioned, though the two problems linked to wheelchair pushes and the golf auto-shot feature arrived with the previous update, version 15.02. Another two listed fixes, for breathwork activity audio and downloaded golf courses, were stated in the earlier version 15.00 release. Therefore, the only new bug fix appears to be the return of the missing Easycard icon for the Garmin Pay contactless payment feature.

You can install beta version 15.05 by going to the Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update. As a reminder, the ECG feature is disabled for users of the Venu 3 and Venu 3s wearables when beta testing. It is unclear when a version of the 15.xx software will roll out to all users of the Venu 3 series and vivoactive 5 smartwatches (curr. from $199.93 at Amazon).
