The Garmin Fenix 7, Fenix 7x, Fenix 7s, Epix, Enduro 2, Quatix 7, and MARQ Gen 2 smartwatches are receiving a new update: beta version 21.18. It arrives a little over a week after beta version 21.15, which brought a golf-related improvement menu and tackled a GPS-related issue.
The beta version 21.18 release notes list four changes. The first tackles an issue which was reported by users in April 2025; they noted that the audio prompt language would unexpectedly revert to English after a power cycle. Garmin indicates that this problem has now been resolved. The company has also fixed a bug linked to the nautical display units shown on an activity summary.
The final two lines are repeated from the beta version 21.15 change log. They are a fix for a possible device crash during a golf activity and improvements to the golf club sensor menu. It is unclear why these two changes have been noted a second time.
Garmin’s beta version 21.18 update is now rolling out over the air (OTA) and should reach all beta testers in the next day or so. You can also manually trigger the update by going to Menu > System > Software Update > Check for Updates. If you own a Fenix 7 smartwatch (currently from $494.95 at Amazon) and want to sign up for the Garmin Beta Program, you can do so via Garmin Connect.
