GTA 6 release date speculation picks up steam after gamers discover potential clues in job listing by Rockstar
Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 6 got its debut trailer last year which has since been viewed more than 170 million times. Safe to say, the game is one of the most anticipated titles in recent memory and should be a phenomenon when it lands in 2025 on the PS5 and Xbox Series S | X (Available on Amazon). Unfortunately, Rockstar hasn't yet revealed the exact date of the GTA 6’s launch.
However, we may now have an idea of the GTA 6 release date thanks to a job posting by Rockstar.
First spotted by folks over at the GTA 6 subreddit, the job posting is for a 12-month contract for the Russian language “Localisation Tester”. Based on the duration of the contract which should end in March 2025 and the fact that the job listing mentions ensuring “final product quality is as high as possible”, speculation is high that the GTA 6 release date could fall sometime in early 2025.
GTA 6 is slated to be an expansive game that would require a ton of testing. It only makes sense that the localisation tester gets to work till the last minute to ensure satisfactory results. Therefore, it is quite reasonable to assume that the GTA 6 could be released in early 2025 and not ship in the fall.
That said, the speculation regarding the GTA 6 launch date could be way off the mark. So, until Rockstar reveals the final date take the rumors and speculation with a grain of salt.
