Asus' ExpertCenter PN54 mini PC, unveiled around a month ago, is now available directly via Asus' online store. The starting price is $589, which is for the barebone model only, i.e., with an AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 processor but no RAM nor storage. For an extra $110, customers can upgrade the APU to an AMD Ryzen AI 5 350. The top model with an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350, 16 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1TB SDD is almost double the price of the barebone model at $1100.
The system measures 130 x 130 millimeters and is 34 millimeters high, and weighs 550 grams without RAM and SSD. A maximum of 64 GB of RAM can be installed in two slots, and the M.2 2280 SSD is also replaceable. For network connectivity, there is a a WiFi 6E card and two Ethernet ports with a data transfer rate of 2.5 GBit/s. Multiple USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports are available on both the front and back, and there is also a USB 4 port on the rear panel. This port supports not only image output but also USB PD with up to 100 watts, allowing the mini PC to be powered directly by a suitably equipped monitor, for example. Monitors can also be connected via one HDMI 2.1 port and two DisplayPort 1.4 ports.
Other features include two speakers, each with an output of two watts. Lastly, a fingerprint sensor and a Copilot button are on board, which allows users to activate an AI assistant.
