Diesel Griffed Gen 6: Fossil Group releases another Snapdragon Wear 4100 Plus smartwatch with Wear OS 3

The Fossil Group has expanded its smartwatch offering with the Diesel Gen 6 Griffed, the first by the subsidiary in two years. Unsurprisingly, the new smartwatch features Fossil Gen 6 design cues, with a round AMOLED display surrounded by thick bezels, two physical buttons and a digital crown protected by a guard.

In short, the Diesel Gen 6 Griffed and the Fossil Gen 6 are identical internally. Hence, the former has 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage and the Snapdragon Wear 4100 Plus, a chipset that Qualcomm replaced earlier this year with the Snapdragon W5 Plus Gen 1. Additionally, the Diesel Gen 6 Griffed supports Fossil’s fast charging technology, which takes the smartwatch from 0-80% charge in 30 minutes. While Diesel has not outlined any battery life expectations for its latest smartwatch, the Fossil Gen 6 lasts approximately a day between charges.

The Diesel Gen 6 Griffed ships with Wear OS 3 too, mirroring the Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition. Currently, Diesel offers the smartwatch in three styles, all with 45.5 mm case sizes and 3 ATM of water resistance. All Diesel Griffed Gen 6 models retail for US$350 and will be orderable on the company’s website from December 1.
