Despite the multiple leaks about Nothing's 2025 smartphone lineup, none has mentioned a foldable smartphone, and that's not too surprising. Knowing Nothing's CEO, Carl Pei (and remembering his time at OnePlus), Nothing will probably take its time before it launches a foldable smartphone.
However, that doesn't mean one can't imagine what a foldable smartphone from the company will look like and one designer has decided to create his own idea of Nothing's first foldable phone which is unsurprisingly named the Nothing Fold (1).
The Nothing Fold (1) concept is designed by Sarang Sheth, an Industrial Designer whose designs mainly focus on tech products such as a MacBook with a slot for an Apple Pencil or an Apple HomePod with a giant display on the top.
His idea of Nothing's first foldable smartphone takes inspiration from the Nothing Phone (2) albeit with a few interesting additions. The render shows the phone with a 6.5-inch flat cover display that has a punch hole for the front-facing camera. The inner display is an 8.3-inch panel making it larger than Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 6 (currently available on Amazon for $1,509) and Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. Like the cover display, this also has a punch hole for a camera.
What makes the Nothing Fold (1) concept design unique is the hinge. In one render, Sarang has added a display to the hinge that shows notifications while in another, the hinge has a light bar. Both are quite interesting features but the former is a pipe dream.
The Fold (1) also has three rear cameras which will be a first considering all of Nothing's phones till date have dual rear cameras. The familiar Glyph Interface is present and the unique Nothing OS interface can be seen on both displays.
Sarang's dream of a Nothing foldable smartphone also includes specifications such as a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor, 16GB of RAM, 32MP front-facing cameras, a 5,500mAh battery, and support for 15W Qi2 wireless charging. He also suggests a £799 (~$1018/€970) price tag so it undercuts its rivals.
