The Xiaomi 15 and Samsung Galaxy S25 (currently available at $759.99 on Amazon) currently have their small but steadily growing niche of relatively compact Android flagships all but to themselves worldwide.
The Oppo Find X8S is thought to become their first major rival of 2025, with slightly more up-to-date specs thanks to its MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor.
The OnePlus 13T might come to join it as soon as possible thereafter. It is thought to have the same basic footprint as the X8S, yet pack the same Snapdragon 8 Elite silicon and 6,000mAh battery as its 'normal' counterpart the 13 nonetheless.
Something else is already on the way to disrupt their plans, though, according to a new leak.
It is thought to fit into the same ~6.3-inch screen size category and to have similar build quality with a metallic mid-frame.
However, it is also thought to rock 2024's Dimensity 9300+ SoC, thereby potentially landing as a more affordable, yet still premium, compact smartphone.
The brand and model of the new mystery flagship killer has yet to be revealed, although it too is thought to debut in the first half of April 2025, thereby possibly aiming to launch after its Oppo and OnePlus rivals have made themselves and their prices known in order to undercut them.
