IFA 2022 | Bose teases a next-gen audio line-up powered by Qualcomm S5 Audio SoCs

Bose has partnered with Qualcomm to secure the new S5 Audio series of chipsets for its next-gen product portfolio. The SoCs will power future soundbars and speakers from the well-known brand as well as its headphones and earbuds. Therefore, they might be capable of the latest in wireless connectivity as well as "high-performance" sound at reduced levels of power consumption.

Bose has come to IFA 2022 to confirm that it has a new hardware line-up including earbuds, headphones, soundbars and speakers on the way. Then again, only some of their internals are now known for sure, as they are all confirmed as basd on the Qualcomm S5 Audio series of chipsets.

Accordingly, the next generation of Bose accessories will almost certainly be Bluetooth 5.3 devices, with the latest in Bluetooth low-energy (LE) technology on top of that. Some of them may also stand to support lossless audio thanks to to their new platforms, as well as adaptive ANC as appropriate.
