Bosch Smart Kitchen Dock debuts with built-in Amazon Alexa
Bosch has demonstrated the Smart Kitchen Dock at IFA. The multi-functional device is a stand for your phone or tablet, with smart home connectivity and built-in Amazon Alexa. The gadget is compatible with products running Android 8.0 or iOS 14.0 and above, including iPhones and iPads, with Bluetooth connectivity. You can use your device on the stand to display recipes, like a digital cookbook.
As you might expect, you can ask Alexa to assist you in the kitchen by setting timers, answering questions such as the average lifetime of a vegetable or finding you a recipe. Alternatively, you can control the device with gestures, such as a swipe hovering over the screen, thanks to integrated sensors, preventing you from dirtying your connected display. The gadget also enables you to control other smart home devices with Home Connect and Alexa voice commands.
Plus, you can use the dock to listen to music via your favourite streaming services; the gadget has a built-in speaker, which uses the surface beneath it to amplify the sound. You can control the Smart Kitchen Dock with buttons to adjust the volume or mute the device. The Bosch Smart Kitchen Dock is expected to retail for €189 (~US$188) when it launches in January.
