Despite our few complaints, the Asus ZenBook Pro UX501 is a stylish all-around notebook capable of satisfying power users, working professionals, and casual to mid-core gamers. Its value at $1499 is re-enforced by a blazing fast SSD, a gorgeous 4K display, and design language that should appeal to even the most devout MacBook Pro fans.

Overall whichever device you choose you will not make a mistake. Weather you are a fan of the sleek light Zen design, or prefer the more aggressive black and red style of the G501, both devices offer great design, premium feel and sturdy build, thanks to the great materials used. The two also have great performance for both serious work and gaming and the cooling systems are good enough to take the heat off during the heavy work process or some hard battle on the virtual battlefield. If you want touchscreen capabilities and a slightly better sound quality you should go for the ZenBook Pro, while if you want to be sure you will be able to play the upcoming AAA game titles with no problem or you do video editing and require some extra video memory – the Republic of Gamers notebook is your choice.

Model: Beautiful, slim and professional looking; the Asus UX501JW-CN209H is a piece of art packed into a laptop. The first eye-catching feature is the elegantly designed spun-metal top cover that oozes class. The entire chassis is solid with smooth hinges and a brushed-metal finish and will surely endure the test of time. Depending on the selected option, the 15.6 inch display with 16:9 aspect ratio is either a Full HD, IPS UHD or IPS FHD panel. Users can adjust the device pricing based on their needs. At the heart of the Windows system is an Intel Core i7-4720HQ processor, up to 16 GB DDR3L RAM and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 GPU with either 2 GB or 4 GB VRAM depending on the model.
Storage options range from a 1 TB HDD to a 256 GB SSD. Other features on the Asus UX501JW-CN209H are Bluetooth 4.0, three USB 3.0 ports, a card reader, a Mini-DisplayPort, an HDMI out and even a Thunderbolt port depending on the variant. Audio quality is excellent with the built-in speakers tuned by Bang and Olufsen ICEpower. There are two battery options for the lapto; either a 4-cell or 6-cell Polymer battery.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M: Upper mid-range graphics card of the GeForce GTX 900M series.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
4720HQ: Haswell-based quad-core processor clocked at 2.6 GHz with Turbo Boost support up to 3.6 GHz. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 4600 GPU and a dual channel DDR3 memory controller.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
15.60":
15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

Customer satisfaction with ASUS notebooks concerns performance, the features, and the good price-performance ratio of ASUS notebooks. However, as with any brand, there are occasional reports of problems such as overheating, driver compatibility, or build quality issues.
75%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
