Anker reveals new lightweight Solix Solar Umbrella and Solar Cloak

Anker has revealed the Solix Solar Umbrella and the Solix Solar Cloak at CES 2025. The company claims that the umbrella is the first device of its kind, designed for a trip to the park or the beach. The portable accessory is lightweight thanks to the use of perovskite solar cells.

According to Anker, the Solix Solar Umbrella’s panels are said to generate 30% more solar power in bright conditions and are twice as efficient in low lighting compared to the equivalent silicon technology. More specifically, the accessory supports an up to 100W input and offers 100W USB-C and XT-60 outputs. It has a similar folding mechanism to that of a regular umbrellas, making it easier to store and transport. The umbrella is compatible with the recently unveiled EverFrost 2 Electric Cooler, as well as portable power stations like the Solix C300 DC, the Solix C800 Plus and the Solix C1000 (curr. $998 at Amazon).

Meanwhile, the Anker Solar Cloak allows users to wear solar panels as they move. The cape uses the same perovskite solar cells for up to 30W power and offers a USB-C port. It is compatible with the C300 DC portable power bank, with other features like built-in LED strips and a heating wire to keep you warm.

The Anker Solix Solar Umbrella will launch in the US this summer, though pricing remains unconfirmed. It is unknown when the Anker Solar Cloak will be available.
