Anker launches a special edition of its 30W GaN fast charger

Anker has introduced a limited edition 30W GaN charger, which is currently exclusive to the Apple Store. Called Year of the Snake, it features the same exact specs as the regular version. However, instead of coming in a plain white colorway, it has a gold colorway with a snake-pattern design.

Even the price is the same as the regular version, with the limited edition Year of the Snake charger costing $39.95 at the Apple Store. There's no word on how long this special edition of the fast charger will be available, but the Year of the Snake is a Chinese zodiac, symbolizing luck and prosperity. It lasts from January 29, 2025, to February 16, 2026, which suggests that the power adapter may be available for a good while.

Getting back to the charger itself, it retains the travel-friendly form factor of the original (30W Anker Nano curr. $18.99 on Amazon). Featuring a single-port design, this power adapter can offer 30W fast charging to compatible Apple devices. As for how fast it can charge, in the product description, Anker states that it can top up devices three times faster than the regular 5W chargers.

The Anker 30W USB-C Year of the Snake edition also comes with the ActiveShield 2.0 tech. It promises to offer safe power output with up to 3 million daily temperature checks while charging. The fast charger bundles with a 1.5m USB-C to USB-C cable, and it also features the snake-pattern design.
