Apple has introduced the iPhone 17 Pro models with a new design. The latest top-end phones come with a stretched camera island, which looks pretty similar to what some of the Android companies have offered in the past. Poco, in particular, took this opportunity to poke fun at Apple, saying that the design is nothing new for its phones.
More particularly, the Poco F6 Pro, which is a rebrand of the Redmi K70 Pro from 2023, has a similar-looking camera island on the back, and it's the phone that the company has used to take a jab at Apple. Of course, Poco or Xiaomi weren't the first launch phones with a stretched bar-shaped camera island.
The OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 Edition from 2020, for example, also sports a similar camera island. It's also worth noting that Poco isn't the first to make fun of the iPhone 17 Pro series redesign. Back in early May 2025, Google responded to the redesign of the latest Apple flagship phones when it was in the rumor stage.
In the video from May, the company implied that Apple was taking inspiration from its phone design, as the recent Google Pixel phones also come with a camera bar on the back. Of course, Apple's implementation is much different than what's found on Google's phones, making the video a little far-fetched.
Nonetheless, the stretched camera "plateau" on the back isn't the only design change on the latest iPhone 17 Pro phones. Apple has also introduced an aluminum unibody frame with "Ceramic Shield" glass. Check out our launch coverage to learn more about Apple's new flagships.
