Samsung Power Sharing Cable turns tablets and smartphones into portable power banks

This $20 USD accessory has micro USB connectors on both ends, thus allowing its users to turn Samsung smartphones and tablets into portable power banks.

Samsung's tablets and smartphones may not have serious battery life issues but their autonomy is not unlimited either, so a portable power bank can always come in handy. Now an accessory by Samsung simply called Power Sharing Cable offers the same capabilities of a power bank to certain supported devices, so one can use the Galaxy S5 smartphone to charge a Gear smartwatch, for example.

According to the official product page, the Samsung Power Sharing Cable can be used to charge "any device that can be charged via Micro USB cable" but only a few devices can act as power banks. The full list of supported devices is this: Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy Avant, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Tab S 10.5, Galaxy Tab S 8.4.

Samsung also offers the Power Sharing app which can be freely downloaded from Google Play or Samsung Apps and allows the user to control how much power to transfer and to monitor the progress. The price of this handy accessory is $19.99 USD and it can be acquired directly from Samsung.com (see the link below).
