Reviews for the Realme X50 5G

All in all, it’s very hard to raise any legitimate criticisms of the Realme X50 5G. There are some improvements that would definitely be nice – if it were a bit lighter, or had a telephoto lens, expandable storage and a 3.5mm headphone jack, say – but these quibbles feel a bit hollow when you look at the price. Paying £300 for a 5G-enabled phone is a bargain, and it would be churlish to moan about what might have been if it were more expensive. If you don’t feel like you need 5G for the foreseeable future – a perfectly legitimate position given the limited coverage – then you might be better off looking to one of last year’s flagship phones as they’ve dropped in price. Otherwise, you can’t go wrong with the Realme X50 5G for £300.

Punching well above its weight, the Realme X50 5G strikes an outstanding price-versus-performance balance. Along with 5G, a powerful processor and a smooth 120Hz screen, the X50 also impresses with both its camera and battery longevity.

Realme X50 5G is a true marvel – offering some truly flagship specs and 5G connectivity at a budget £300 price tag. From a speedy display and strong performance to a decent main camera sensor, impressive battery and respectable design, the X50 5G might be the best value for money phone on the market right now.

The Realme X50 5G is a phone that does almost everything well when you consider that it costs £299. Frankly, the Realme X50 5G must be in line for the title of budget 5G smartphone of 2020. it’s just a shame that it isn’t available in the US.

Realme undercuts the OnePlus Nord in terms of price - and does a fine job of delivering a compelling phone. It's true that the camera could be better, and that there are little compromises in terms of design and display tech, but it's unlikely you'll find an all-round better phone than the X50 5G at this price.

The Realme X50 5G is one of the best mobile deals of 2020. It has 5G, a large 120Hz screen, a very competent processor, fast charging and good general camera performance for £300.

Ultimately, if we can expect mid-range 5G smartphones to come at this sort of cost with these sorts of specs, then the consumer is the winner. Companies aren’t just slapping a 5G antenna onto a cheap phone, they’re making devices for people who want to be at the cutting edge of technology without breaking the bank. Realme’s X50 certainly qualifies as the sort of device that answers that need.

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.84.5%: This rating is slightly above average, there are somewhat more devices with worse ratings. However, clear purchase recommendations look different.
