Ready or not, here it comes: iOS 13 is scheduled to arrive this Thursday, but iPad users will not get the new piece of code at the same time. Apple still has to work on the upcoming iPadOS for a bit since its release date is set for September 30 — about two weeks before the launch of the next-gen iPad Pro.
Without further ado, this is the list of devices that iOS 13 will support:
- iPod touch (7th generation)
- iPhone SE
- iPhone 6s & iPhone 6s Plus
- iPhone 7 & iPhone 7 Plus
- iPhone 8 & iPhone 8 Plus
- iPhone X
- iPhone XR
- iPhone XS & iPhone XS Max
- iPhone 11
- iPhone 11 Pro & iPhone 11 Pro Max
Before proceeding with the update, the user should perform a backup using iTunes or iCloud and be sure that their handsets have at least 3 GB of free space available, although having 6 GB would not be a bad idea at all. The update will be available via OTA, but those who are planning to perform a clean installation using iTunes will also require a Lightning cable — just be sure it is a reliable one if you are a part of that crowd.
These being said, we can only wait for the official arrival of iOS 13, which will finally bring a Dark Mode to Apple's handsets alongside a new home screen, faster Face ID, and more.
