Model: With many years of existence, HP has performed well in the notebook range. To date, under the auspices of the brand, laptops are produced in a variety of segments which are in great demand. One of the new HP laptop released is the HP 14-am100ur which is designed for daily work. The laptop is clad in a case of dark gray color, which is quite a universal design of laptop in the market these days. However, the quality of the material is good. The material behaves well in the work. It does not creak. The cover has a matte surface with a glossy black logo of the manufacturer on it. The screen of the device is surrounded by a frame of medium thickness. It is matte, so fingerprints on it are not very noticeable. On the top of the frame is a web cam. Below the display is another brand logo but a miniature size. The plastic falsework surface imitates metal design in appearance but not on touch. The 14-inch screen has a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. It has a high brightness and excellent contrast ratio. As a result, the display is a clear, bright and rich picture on the output. The display is not touch-sensitive. Therefore, it does not support the touch of the stylus. Thanks to the IPS matrix, the screen can be installed at any angle and there is no color distortion. The surface of the display is glossy, so it's better not to work near the windows. Otherwise, glare cannot be avoided.

The laptop has a DTS Studio Sound application, there are two stereo speakers. Since the device is not built to be a multimedia laptop, it does not make sense to expect high-quality sound from it. Acoustic features are sufficient for a medium sized room. At maximum volume, the sound does not wheeze, no extraneous noise is added to it. Thus, to enjoy the sound to the fullest, use headphones or connect external speakers. The HP 14-am100ur is distributed with the operating system Windows 10 Home 64-bit. The device is powered by a dual-core Intel Core i5-7200U processor of the Kaby Lake generation with a nominal frequency of 2.5 GHz and a maximum frequency of 3.1 GHz. The chip supports Hyper-Threading technology, which allows processing up to four data streams simultaneously. The CPU is made according to the standards of the 14-nm process technology and has 3 MB of 3rd level cache. It is characterized by energy efficiency because its TDP is 15 W. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 graphics card runs at 300-1000 MHz and supports DirectX 12. It is suitable for simple everyday tasks such as like web surfing, audio and video playback, work with documents, etc. If more performance is desired, the discrete graphics AMD Radeon R5 M430 with 2 GB VRAM of the DDR3 standard will come to the rescue.

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.

The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.
