Zuiki teases Evotop ultra-wideband wireless game controller with touch display and very low latency
Zuiki has teased its Evotop ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless game controller at the 2024 Tokyo Game Show (TGS). By using a UWB dongle, the controller has much lower latency than Bluetooth controllers. The controller transmits over the 7.25 GHz to 9.0 GHz frequencies, making it far more resilient to interference from nearby Bluetooth and Wi-Fi devices operating in the 2.4 GHz to 5 GHz frequencies. Zuiki suggests the controller has a very low latency similar to a wired game controller.
Both black and white Evotop models were shown at the TGS. The controller grips are wrapped in synthetic leather for better grip during intense gameplay. The body is made of aramid fibers, which are the same used in modern body armor for its strength. The D-Pad and rear buttons are made of metal. A Turbo-Z button near the XYAB buttons activates continuous fire, reducing the strain on fingers while playing shooting games.
Unlike other common game controllers, gamers can use the built-in touch display to select settings and recall profiles on the Evotop without resorting to a PC app. The controller charges using any USB-C power source.
