ZUK Z2: High-end specifications for mainstream prices

The smaller Z2 will offer a Snapdragon 820 SoC and 4 GB RAM for under 250 Euros
The smaller Z2 will offer a Snapdragon 820 SoC and 4 GB RAM for under 250 Euros
The 5.2-inch Z2 Pro will sport 6 GB RAM and a 3000 mAh battery while the smaller 5-inch Z2 will sport 4 GB RAM and a larger 3500 mAh battery.

The ZUK Z2 Pro and Z2 will retail for roughly 370 Euros and 250 Euros, respectively, according to their official product pages. Specifications between them will also vary quite a bit, but both will pack powerful hardware considering the prices.

The Z2 Pro variant will be compatible with 12 LTE bands (compared to 11 on the Z2), which may have an impact on certain European regions. The Z2 Pro will also have a 5.2-inch FHD AMOLED panel compared to the 5-inch FHD LTPS panel on the Z2. Internal storage space for the Z2 Pro will be up to 128 GB UFS 2.0 eMMC compared to the smaller and slower 64 GB eMMC 5.1 in the Z2.

Additional differences can also be found in their cameras. While both models make use of a rear 13 MP ISOCELL Samsung sensor, the Z2 Pro has a wider aperture of F/1.8 compared to F/2.2 on the Z2. Thus, the Z2 Pro should offer better performance under low-light conditions. The standard Z2 is also lacking Dirac HD sound for enhanced sound quality and includes fewer health sensors than its pricier Z2 Pro counterpart.

Strangely enough, the smaller Z2 carries a larger 3500 mAh battery pack compared to the 3000 mAh battery pack in the Z2 Pro. This can be explained by the size of the Z2 as it is almost twice as thick as the Z2 Pro (4.6 mm vs. 8.45 mm). Nonetheless, a 5-inch smartphone with a Snapdragon 820 SoC and 4 GB RAM is still a very good bargain.
