ZTE Axon 30 Pro: new leaks hint at a "Trinity" of high-end cameras for the upcoming flagship smartphone
The ZTE Axon 30 Pro is currently making its way through the hype-stage of its launch cycle, amid speculation that it might seek to stand out with a new, 200MP Samsung sensor set in a particularly prominent rear camera hump. However, its latest teaser (and leaks) might suggest that it will go in a different direction with its photography specs.
The OEM has released a new poster introducing "ZTE Trinity" alongside a triangular graphic and text that, when translated from the original Chinese on Weibo, can be interpreted to mean it entails a combination of more than 2 flagship camera modules.
Therefore, it may be that the company intends to combine 3 new, high-resolution sensors in the same camera array, thereby outdoing competitors such as OPPO, which has just debuted its Find X3 Pro flagship with innovative dual 50MP IMX 766s.
The eminent leaker Digital Chat Station has lent weight to this idea, pointing out that most smartphone makers have fallen into a pattern of presenting 1 "headline" sensor along with others that perform more predictable functions.
The ZTE executive Qianhao Lu has also strongly hinted that this is the case, indicating that the OEM has spared no expense on bringing the Axon 30 Pro to the forefront of mobile photography: apparently, mere dual main sensors cannot quite cut it in this endeavor.
