You can even put your feet up in this ergonomic office chair: Sihoo Doro C300 review
Work & Relax.
If you sit at your desk a lot, a comfortable office chair is particularly important. The Sihoo Doro C300 offers a wide range of ergonomic features for around $500. Our review reveals what this ergonomic desk chair offers and what it is good for.Marcus Schwarten (translated by DeepL / Marcus Schwarten) Published 🇩🇪
Sihoo Doro C300 test conclusion: Adjustable office chair at an affordable price
The Sihoo Doro C300 scored highly in our test with its various adjustment functions, even if there is still room for improvement. It enables a sitting position that can be adjusted in various ways and offers good back support, especially with the dynamic and self-adjusting lumbar support. This benefits people who work at a desk all the time, as they can sit comfortably on the chair for many hours.
Ultimately, the fit depends primarily on your height. We don't quite agree with the manufacturer's specifications. From a good 180 cm, the height adjustment of the backrest and headrest is not sufficient according to our findings. However, people up to 180 cm sit comfortably according to our impressions.
The optional footrest is practical and pleasant for everyday office use and invites you to relax when needed. Overall, the Sihoo Doro C300 made a good impression in our test, with some limitations.

There are numerous ergonomic office chairs on the market. Many models cost a lot of money, which not everyone can or wants to pay. Sihoo, on the other hand, offers a solution with the Doro C300 that only costs around $500 - in some cases even less.
We used the ergonomic office chair in a practical test over a longer period of time and reveal what it has to offer and how well we sat on it.

Scope of delivery and assembly: Ready for use in around one hour
We were provided with the Sihoo Doro C300 including the optional footrest in white. It should be mentioned right away that the color should actually be grey. The chair is predominantly in very light gray, which is somewhat reminiscent of old computer hardware.
At first glance, we don't really like the relatively "colorful" mix of colors. The Sihoo Doro C300, declared as "white", presents itself with castors and base in black, star-shaped aluminum swivel base and gas pressure spring in shiny silver, frame in light grey plastic, mesh cover in another light shade of grey and medium grey armrests.
The ergonomic office chair was delivered in two rather large and heavy boxes. Unpacked, they contain around 20 parts as well as a whole range of screws and other small parts. The advantage is that all the tools are included in the scope of delivery, so there is no need to dig in the toolbox. Another positive aspect is that the manufacturer does not use large polystyrene blocks as packaging material and instead uses cardboard. In the end, a 25-liter bin bag was still full of bags and other plastic waste.
The instructions explain the assembly of the chair in relatively small pictures and without many words, but are ultimately easy to understand. A total of 11 steps are required, which should take around 30 to 60 minutes depending on your skills.
On the whole, we found it easy to assemble. When connecting the seat and backrest, it is particularly important that the two parts are screwed together precisely. Otherwise it will not be possible to fit the armrests later on. It is also advisable for two people to assemble the chair, at least when placing the upper part of the chair on the swivel base and gas pressure spring. Especially as the chair weighs well over 20 kg in total.
Equipment and quality: various customization options
The Sihoo Doro C300 offers various adjustment options. In addition to height adjustment of the seat by approx. 8 cm using a gas pressure spring, the backrest can also be adjusted in height by approx. 6 cm in four stages. A little more would be desirable here, as we explain below. The headrest can be adjusted by approx. 5 cm in height and twice in angle and position.
Unfortunately, the seat of the office chair, which can hold up to approx. 300 lbs, cannot be adjusted horizontally. It measures around 51 x 46 cm in width and depth and, like the backrest and headrest, is covered with mesh fabric. This ensures that it adapts well to the shape of the body and also prevents excessive sweating on the contact surfaces on hot days.
The seat is surrounded on the left and right by a lightly padded 4D armrest. These can not only be adjusted up to 9 cm in height, but can also be moved forward by a few centimetres. The fact that they can be reclined to around 45 degrees is particularly practical for relaxed sitting. This allows you to rest your arms comfortably on them while your hands rest on your stomach.
The adjustment of the individual components is smooth, but the locking mechanism leaves a predominantly stable impression. Only the armrests turn a little too easily to the left and right for our taste.
Overall, the Sihoo Doro C300 makes a high-quality impression and is well made. There are no creaking noises, sharp edges or anything similar. Nothing concrete can be said about the long-term quality in our limited test period. According to the manufacturer, the chair withstood 100,000 cycles without deformation in the TÜV endurance test. Sihoo also offers a 3-year guarantee and a 30-day free return policy.
Seating comfort: supportive lumbar support and optional footrest
The manufacturer advertises that the ergonomic office chair should fit people from 155 to 190 cm. I have to disagree with that. I'm a good 180 cm tall myself and apparently have a relatively long upper body. Both with this model and with one or two other similar models, I couldn't get my shoulders properly under the headrest. This means that when sitting upright and leaning back, my shoulder blades collide with the lower edge of the headrest, even with the backrest raised to the maximum and the headrest turned upwards. In contrast, a test person around 175 cm tall had no problems at all.
Apart from this height-dependent problem, the Sihoo Doro C300 made a comfortable impression on two different testers with different heights and weights. The dynamic and self-adapting, but not manually adjustable lumbar support is particularly comfortable.
At first glance, you would actually expect this relatively pronounced hump to "be in the way" and press uncomfortably into the back. Instead, however, it supports and cushions the curvature of the back in the lower area and thus ensures a more relaxed, upright sitting position even when sitting at a desk for long periods of time.
A rocking function can be activated on request, but the resistance cannot be adjusted. This allows you to lean back comfortably on the Sihoo Doro C300 (up to approx. 130 degrees). If the footrest, whose mesh-covered leg rest can be adjusted in angle, is then extended, a short power nap or a short relaxation break is also possible directly on the office chair. The armrests also fold backwards.
