Despite the rise of standing desks and similar trends, LiberNovo asserts that we all still spend too much time sitting - up to 9.5 hours per day on average, apparently.
The start-up purports to have developed the ideal alternative to re-enacting that US Office episode in the form of its latest product.
The Omni looks almost like the average desk-chair - however, its maker asserts that every part of it, from the neck-rest to the arm-rests, are part of a SyncroLink dynamic support system that constantly moves and flexes with the occupant to maximise comfort throughout the work-day (or gaming session).
Furthermore, the chair is backed to ship with world-first "electric" lumbar support in the form of its Bionic FlexFit Backrest.
It also integrates an OmniStretch feature that is touted to approximate the effect of a mild massage therapy session in order to maintain back health in the face of prolonged seated postures.
Those features are both battery-powered, and are estimated to stay on for up to 30 days per charge.
The LiberNovo Omni has debuted on Kickstarter, and starts from $769 (or 40% off its planned retail price) with free shipping in the US and currently projected to ship in September 2025.
Its crowd-funding campaign has gotten off to a powerful start, having accrued nearly $1 million in backing at the time of writing with 59 days to go.
