Xiaomi teases the Mi CC9 Pro with a 50x zoom demo
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro has not even launched yet; despite this fact, it is still shaping up to be a serious contender in the smartphone camera arena. The OEM has already let us know that it is to be the first device to use the new 108MP sensor from Samsung. However, that's not all: it also has a total of 4 additional lenses on its rear panel, which reportedly confer 5x optical zoom on this Pro variant.
Furthermore, Xiaomi now claims that this zoom can be extended to 50x in digital mode. The company has recently teased the phone (again) with a video purporting to showcase this ability. This was done by pointing a CC9 Pro at an eyesight chart of the type that uses M-shaped characters in various orientations and regularly decreasing font sizes.
The phone was apparently capable of clearly showing the 5th line from the bottom by maxing out its new zoom capabilities. Xiaomi also demonstrated that there is also an intermediate 10x setting for varying levels of close-up. Meanwhile, additional official leaks have shown the CC9 Pro in what appear to be its 2 color choices: a forest-like green and an pale gradient which may be called Ice and Snow Aurora. The former of these also hinted strongly at the presence of a headphone jack.
