Digital Chat Station has revealed more details about Xiaomi's upcoming flagship smartphones, having already teased the possibility of the company announcing a Mi 11 Lite 5G. This time, the leaker has mentioned the Redmi K40 series and the Mi 11 Ultra, as we have covered separately, which will succeed Xiaomi's popular Redmi K30 series and the Mi 10 Ultra.
According to Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi will initially release three Redmi K40 models, of which one will have a 108 MP primary camera. This model will seemingly have a Snapdragon 888 SoC too, with Xiaomi reserving the Snapdragon 870 for lesser Redmi K40 models. Additionally, the other two models will have 64 MP primary cameras.
Moreover, Digital Chat Station has also teased the punch hole's size in the Redmi K40 series. According to the leaker, the punch hole will be 2.8 mm across, which will have a small impact on the UI of MIUI. Digital Chat Station has shown how little the status bar will move from the top of the display to accommodate the punch hole too, as shown below. Incidentally, Digital Chat Station believes that Xiaomi will announce the Redmi K40 series this month in India, probably following the company's Chinese launch.
Separately, Redmi's General Manager has been bragging about the Redmi K40 series' capabilities again. Taking to Weibo, Lu Weibing asserted that the Redmi K40's screen is fantastic and is 'probably the best straight [flat] screen of 2021'. Xiaomi is expected to equip the Redmi K40 series with Samsung E4 OLED screens, currently the most-expensive flat OLEDs on the market. The Samsung E4 supposedly offers a better contrast ratio than its predecessor, while also delivering higher maximum brightness and lower power consumption.
