Xiaomi officially reveals launch date for new flagship with 200MP Leica camera

Xiaomi previously confirmed that it would launch a new model in its flagship series. For context, the Xiaomi 17 series includes multiple models: the standard Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, and Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Now the company has revealed the launch date for the new Xiaomi 17 Max.

The smartphone will launch on May 21 along with the Xiaomi YU7 GT, Xiaomi Band 10 Pro, and several home appliances. The launch for the Xiaomi 17 Max is specific to the Chinese market, and there is no confirmation regarding a global launch.

Key specifications of the Xiaomi 17 Max

The company previously revealed key details about the upcoming smartphone. The Xiaomi 17 Max will feature a large 6.9-inch screen, similar to the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. Additionally, the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.

It will feature a 200MP primary camera and Leica tuning. Notably, a large 8,000mAh battery is one of the main highlights of the Xiaomi 17 Max. For comparison, the top-of-the-line Xiaomi 17 Ultra has a 6,000mAh battery. The smartphone has been confirmed to come in three color options: Pixel Black, White, and Sky Blue.
