Xiaomi launches new compact fast charger with foldable design and multi-protocol support

Xiaomi has introduced a new power adapter in China, the 45W GaN mini charger. It comes with support for 45W fast charging, which, according to the company, can charge many smartphones from 0% to over 50% in around 30 minutes.

To be specific, Xiaomi claims that the fast charger can get Redmi Note 14 Pro to 60%, Note 15 to 57%, and iPhone 16 Pro Max to 55% in the said time frame. Speaking of which, there's support for a wide range of fast charging protocols, including PPS, QC, and PD.

This broad support allows the fast charger to work with a wide range of devices, including low-powered accessories. Xiaomi also highlights the small and compact design of the power adapter. It's said to be 47% smaller than regular chargers with the same power output ratings.

Paired with the foldable prongs, the small size of this new Xiaomi charger makes it very travel-friendly. As for the price, this power adapter has an affordable launch price in China. More specifically, it launched with a tag of CNY 54.90, around $8. It's worth noting that the company isn't bundling any cable with the charger (Baseus 3.3-feet 100W cable curr. $7.99 on Amazon).

Another thing worth noting is that Xiaomi hasn't shared anything about the global release of this 45W mini charger. However, the brand generally brings most of its accessories outside the Chinese market.
