Xiaomi launches new cheaper Magnetic Power Bank 5000mAh
The Xiaomi Magnetic Power Bank 5000mAh 7.5W has been launched in China. The accessory has been designed to charge your iPhone wirelessly and is compatible with models from Series 12 onwards.
The power bank’s MagSafe wireless charging pad offers a 7.5W output, with your phone attached via 10N magnets. You can charge a second device at the same time via a USB-C port. While this is said to deliver up to 18W power when it is the sole output, the combined output appears to be limited to 10W. The USB-C port is also used to recharge the accessory at up to 20W, with a full recharge taking 2.2 hours. Xiaomi notes that the device supports pass-through charging, and an NTC temperature control system ensures the power bank does not overheat. There are nine safety protection features covering issues like short circuits and overvoltage.
The 5,000mAh power bank has a lithium-ion battery with a 2,800mAh rated capacity, allowing you to charge an iPhone 15 once. The compact gadget measures 103.7 x 68.3 x 12 mm (~4.1 x 2.7 x 0.5 inches) and comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable. You can now buy the Xiaomi Magnetic Power Bank 5000mAh 7.5W in China for 129 yuan (~$18), making it relatively inexpensive. It is unclear whether or when the accessory could launch in other markets. Instead, customers in regions like the US could consider purchasing the Anker 621 Magnetic Battery (MagGo) for $39.99.
