Xiaomi has announced the Smart Camera C300 Dual Camera Edition, which will shortly begin crowdfunding in China. As its name suggests, the model offers two cameras which can point in different directions, allowing you to survey a larger area.
At the top of the new Smart Camera C300 is a 6mm telephoto lens which can pan 360° and tilt up to 88°. This gimbal lens can intelligently pan to track movement, or you can choose your viewing angle. Beneath this is a fixed 2.8mm short-focus lens. Both 3MP cameras deliver a 2,304 x 1,296 px resolution, with infrared to capture images at night. AI tools include facial recognition, human and sound detection, and setting up virtual boundaries. Controls are available in the Mijia app, and you can link the device to your smart home products thanks to Xiaomi HyperOS Connect. Other features include dual-band Wi-Fi 6, 128MB local storage and support for 256GB microSD.
The Xiaomi Smart Camera C300 Dual Camera Edition’s crowdfunding campaign will launch in China on June 12. Backers can pledge 269 yuan (~$37) at Xiaomi Youpin to receive the device. The product is expected to retail for 299 yuan (~$41), though it is unclear when it will go on general sale. It also remains to be seen whether the company will launch the device in Europe, where it already sells the original Xiaomi Smart Camera C300 for around €41.
