According to the official Twitter handle of Poco India, the Xiaomi Poco F1 is all set to launch on August 22. While no specifications have been revealed, we do know that the Poco F1 is Xiaomi's shot at the affordable flagship category.

Poco India has announced on Twitter that the Xiaomi Poco F1 will be launching in India on August 22. Poco India did not reveal any key specifications but it is no secret that this will be Xiaomi's entrant into the affordable flagship category. The Poco F1 had its fair share of leaks over the past few weeks and with what we know so far, the phone lends itself as a viable alternative to other affordable flagships such as the OnePlus 6 and the Asus Zenfone 5Z.

The August 22 event will be hosted by Xiaomi's Head of Product for Poco, Jai Mani. According to Mani, Poco's aim is to 'make a smartphone with technologies that truly matter'. The Poco F1 is said to feature a liquid-cooled Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with 64 GB and 128 GB storage options. The handset recently checked-in for Bluetooth SIG certification and it was revealed that the rear shooter is a 12 MP + 5 MP dual-camera setup while the 20 MP selfie camera supports pixel binning. The Poco F1 was also spotted posting an impressive score on AnTuTu.

Pricing is expected to be around Euro 420 for the 64 GB version and Euro 460 for the 128 GB version. Official figures will be made available closer to launch. With the price of the Asus Zenfone 5Z undercutting the OnePlus 6 by a significant margin, a new entrant into the affordable flagship category will make this segment worth keeping a tab on.
