Xiaomi Mi5 photos and AnTuTu score leak online

The new flagship smartphone from Xiaomi, the Mi5, will be officially unveiled this Thursday. A couple of days before the announcement, several photos of the handset have found their way online, completed by the AnTuTu score obtained by the Mi5.

Back at the start of January, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has scheduled a press event on January 15, a date when the company is expected to unveil its Mi5 flagship. Although the Mi5 was no stranger to leaks in the past few weeks, today a few high-quality pictures have surfaced online showing the smartphone from the front and back.

Sadly, the Mi5 was not pictured form the side so that we can see just how thin it is. Xiaomi's press invite for the launch event hinted at a thin profile, with rumors claiming that the Mi5 could be as thin as 5.1 mm. The new set of images show that the Xiaomi Mi5 could adopt a similar design language to that of its predecessor, although the 8.9-mm Xiaomi Mi4 isn't nearly as thin as the Mi5 is expected to be. The Mi5 is expected to come with a 5 inch display running a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels.

Among the pics of the smartphone's front and back, the new leak also consists of a photo of the score that the Xiaomi Mi5 obtained in the popular AnTuTu Benchmark v5 app. The Xiaomi Mi5 obtained score of 46,886 points, one that places the handset up there with the best of what the Android ecosystem has to offer. For example, the Snapdragon 805 version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 scored 47,172 during our review, while the Apple iPhone 6 Plus yielded 50,360 points. The Google Nexus 6 currently tops our AnTuTu charts with 51,821 points.
