This Qualcomm Snapdragon 625-powered, 6.44-inch Android phablet is scheduled to become available for purchase in India on July 18. The prices in China start around $245 USD for the 64 GB variant and $290 USD for the 128 GB version.
A media invite that Xiaomi India has recently sent to the press reveals that the Mi Max 2 phablet launches locally on July 18. This massive phablet has been unveiled in China back in May as the direct successor of last year's successful Mi Max.
The specs hold no surprises - a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB or 128 GB internal storage, a 12 MP main camera with PDAF and a 5 MP selfie snapper, a 6.44-inch HD display, a generous 5,300 mAh battery, all with Android Nougat on top, spiced up with Xiaomi's MIUI 8 interface.
For now, there is no information about the variants that would be available in India and their prices, but we expect both storage options to hit India. We will probably have all the details next week and, hopefully, we will also get some info about this phablet's arrival in other areas as well. As a reminder, the Mi Max 2 starts below $250 USD in China, offering a lot for its price.

In my early school days, I hated writing and having to make up stories. A decade later, I started to enjoy it. Since then, I published a few offline articles and then I moved to the online space, where I contributed to major websites that are still present online as of 2021 such as Softpedia, Brothersoft, Download3000, but I also wrote for multiple blogs that have disappeared over the years. I've been riding with the Notebookcheck crew since 2013 and I am not planning to leave it anytime soon. In love with good mechanical keyboards, vinyl and tape sound, but also smartphones, streaming services, and digital art.
