Xiaomi has offered its strongest hints yet that it will soon be offering a new set of flagship smartphones globally. To date, the company had confirmed that it would be hosting 'the next pinnacle' event on March 2 before heading to MWC 2025 in Barcelona. While details were few and far between, a silhouette of what looks like a Xiaomi 14 Ultra successor can be seen.
Now, the company has provided a first official look at what is likely the Xiaomi 15 Ultra's rear design. Embedded above, the image shows a device with a different camera layout to the existing Xiaomi 14 Ultra (curr. $1,029 on Amazon) with five circular apertures. Based on recent leaks, the upper left aperture only contains Leica and camera hardware inscriptions rather than a camera sensor.
Potentially, this could be because Xiaomi has reclaimed that space for a large 200 MP periscope telephoto camera. This new camera should be joined by primary, secondary and ultra-wide-angle cameras, which will sit behind each of the smaller circular apertures. Incidentally, the animation appears to suggest that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be offered with a two-tone design globally too, which a separate official post by Xiaomi Vietnam reinforces.
The latter also shows the Xiaomi 15 Ultra next to the Xiaomi 15, which has been available in China since last October. Thus, it seems that Xiaomi's compact flagship will be joining the Xiaomi 15 Ultra next month at MWC 2025 before being released globally. By contrast, the Xiaomi 15 Pro looks set to remain a Chinese exclusive, just like its predecessor.
